POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst, under the general direction of the Director of Financial Services, is integral in supporting financial planning, analysis and special financial studies as well as performing general accounting functions. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assists in preparation of financial analysis of actual versus budgeted variances.

• Assists in preparation of a detailed annual financial budget process and provides support to divisions.

• Provides financial analysis support for department managers.

• Develops and prepares regular and special financial and statistical reports. Analyzes, identifies, and offers solutions for financial irregularities.

• Acts as a financial partner; offering input and suggestions to all departments on how to improve businesses and/or cost centers with specific revenue improvement ideas and cost control initiatives.

• Leads pro-forma effort in analyzing the potential of any considered new revenue stream; participates in think-tank and strategy discussions for potential new business initiatives.

• Assists with Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) reports.

• Assists with month end closing processes.

• Prepares financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system.

• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

• Prepares and processes journal entries, special worksheets, and analysis.

• Prepares year-end audit work papers for external audits.

• Develops a thorough understanding of revenue producing and other divisions/departments.

• Works closely with non-accounting personnel and management in the use and interpretation of accounting data.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred; plus at least one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in understanding and use of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and 10-key adding machine or calculator skills.

Other Required Skills and Abilities:

• Requires understanding of financial record-keeping methods, procedures and practices. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic math, algebra, and geometry.

• Must have the ability to operate food service equipment, including but not limited to; slicers, mixers, knives, ovens, and steamers and office equipment such as computers, copy machines, and fax machines. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Must be able to pass a background check that will include, at minimum, verification of education and employment histories, criminal records, national sex offender registry check, and references. Additionally, based on the nature and scope of the position, the background check may also include a credit report, motor vehicle report, and verification of professional licenses
