The Finance Generalist assists the Chief Financial Officer in several duties, including managing and processing weekly payroll, managing Open Sky’s vehicle fleet and real property, and supporting the Operations and Transportation teams as needed. The position maintains a high level of independence and responsibility related to payroll, fleet, and property maintenance. Fostering effective interdepartmental collaboration is a crucial responsibility.

Schedule

This job is based out of the Durango office M-F with periodic travel to our operations base in Mancos, CO, and basecamps near Dolores, CO, and Dove Creek, CO.

Essential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

  • Administer weekly payroll processing, reviewing timesheets, resolving errors, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Assist CFO and IT Administrator in transitioning from the current manual timesheet process to a streamlined, digital timesheet process.
  • Administratively manage the Open Sky vehicle fleet of around 50 vehicles and trailers.
  • Set schedules and refine procedures for routine maintenance and non-routine repair of all vehicles in the fleet.
  • Assist the CFO in purchasing and disposing of new and existing vehicles.
  • Draft and present detailed budgets and financial reports on the fleet and properties.
  • Draft and present reports on department operations and expenses.
  • Manage and supervise commercial and residential properties' administration, improvement, maintenance, inspection, and general operations.
  • Periodically support our student intake team.

Compensation

$50,000-$60,000 annually

Requirements:

Experience

2+ years of payroll experience preferred

Fleet management experience preferred

Real property management experience preferred

Skills, Licenses, Certifications

Must be at least 21 years old.

Presentation skills, computer literacy, and excellent verbal communication and writing skills are required.

Have an acceptable driving record and a valid driver’s license.

Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening, including THC.

Pass Colorado, Utah, and FBI background checks.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Must be able to hear and talk with other people in person and using phone and radio. Must be able to use office technology, including a computer and related equipment. Must be able to spend long periods standing, bending, and walking, and must be able to use stairs frequently.

Work Environment

Work is performed in office and outdoor settings with frequent interaction with other people. Employee may be exposed to environmental conditions such as extreme weather, noise, and vibration, and employee may be exposed to infectious diseases. Work involves functioning in narrow aisles or passageways. Employee will be working with students who have acute mental, emotional, and behavioral healthcare needs. Employee may drive and ride in Open Sky vehicles in support of program activities.

Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening. Pass annual physical. Clean driving record and valid driver's license. Complete DMV Release for annual inquiry and review of driving record. Pass Colorado and Utah background checks. Pass annual Utah background check. Review and sign annual Utah Provider Code of Conduct.
