Fiber Optic (FTTH) Installer Job at Excell Communications Inc
The Fiber Optic (FTTH) Installer will be responsible for installation of fiber optic cabling to provide residences and businesses with high-speed internet access. Candidates selected for this position will receive 3 weeks of paid training, and then will conduct installations at various locations within a local territory as assigned. We are currently hiring throughout the Tri-state area as part of our rapid growth!
Qualifications:
- Prior work experience in a field/outdoor setting is preferred
- Strong communication skills are required
- Prior work experience in FTTH / Telecommunications is a plus
- Must be able to work with extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, lifting, standing, etc.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions
- Must be able to distinguish the different colors of fiber optic cable (Red/Yellow/Black)
- Must be willing to perform certain aerial tasks involving cable installs, cable hanging, and sometimes working from a bucket
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license and satisfactory driving record
Responsibilities:
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining fiber optic cables, wires, and plug-in active equipment to connect telecommunication systems and equipment
- Connects wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles
- Perform tasks such as placing cable, air pipe, and inner duct in various types of conduit systems and open excavations
- Ensure all installation work is done according to company standards
- Must adhere to all safety standards/requirements as detailed by both the company and the customers
