Service Area: Hendricks, Marion, Hamilton, Hancock, and Boone Counties

Responsibilities:
● Case Management & Visitation
o Complete all required training for Department of Child Services direct care professionals during the first 30 days of employment.
o Follow DCS service standards as outlined to fidelity, and document approval of any required variation.
o Initiate all contact with clients within 24 hours of referral assignment and complete intake and assessment in their home, community, or agency.
o Maintain daily documentation of all client contact.
o Meet with Homebased Casework, Safety Checks, or Supervised Visitation families/children 1-3x per week or more as needed in-home to provide services to address issues of safety, abuse, and neglect.
o Assist CHINS families in eliminating issues/barriers to success related to finances, housing, childcare, education, parent-child attachment issues through supervising visits, parent education, substance use, domestic violence, etc. as deemed appropriate.
● Success in Parenting or Reunification Coordination
o Assist with intake and assessment for program placement, supervising visitations, and engaging families in case management services
o Ensure all family members have a current and regularly reviewed safety plan to eliminate maladaptive behaviors for parent and child
o Ensure environmental safety is assessed and addressed collaboratively with families
o Complete a budget and confirm fiscal stability every 30 days
o Outline resources with address, email/phone for aftercare supportive services at the time of discharge relevant to increasing protective factors for the entire family
o Facilitate, as needed, education in group and/or individually to fidelity as trained by the agency.
o Report attendance, completions, or discharges of all participants within 24 hours to the referral source.
o Attend all Child & Family Team meetings and interagency staff meetings and training for ongoing development
o Assist with completing pre and post-testing for completion of a parenting program
o Provide as needed any emergency assistance to caseload
● Administrative & Other Requirements
o Maintain records in agency database and statewide DCS database.
o Complete all monthly progress reporting to include all goals, interventions, and progress by the 3rd of each month for supervisor approval.
o Attend all court hearings, child, and family team meetings, and provide updates in the database and to referral source as needed.
o Respond to any crisis during regular working hours and after hours.
o Report all suspicious of abuse or neglect to the Child Protection Services hotline and complete an incident report for supervisor approval within 24 hours by phone and in writing.
o Engage in staffing calls and in-person meetings with supervisor and team weekly.
o Report to referral source any non-compliance within 24 hours to ensure child safety.
o Ensure appropriate flexibility and availability to service all assigned counties.
Compensation: Contractual based DCS reimbursement
Pay Schedule: Monthly
Qualifications:
● High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Social Work, Psychology or other Human Service Degree, Preferred
● Certified in CPR/First Aid and Car Seat Training
● Certified in CANS and ANSA preferred but can obtain after hire
● Appropriate driving record and valid driver’s license, no history of repeated suspensions, and no operating under the influence charges.
● At least 3 years of experience providing direct service to youth, individuals, and families
● At least 2 years of experience in Child Welfare Service Delivery
● Ability to access database, email, meetings virtually and in-person
● Must be proficient in Microsoft WORD, Excel, and prefer experience with Access
● Familiar with Department of Child Services Service Standards for Home/Community-based Services
● Familiar with Social Work Code of Ethics
