The Opportunity Alliance's Public Health Program is hiring for Family Partnership Coordinator for the Community School. The Family Partnerships Coordinator will play a key role in implementing the Community School Development Project at Memorial Middle School in South Portland. The middle school is the city's first community school with a model that uses a coordinated approach involving families, social service organizations and others to provide needed resources. The Community Schools Model is an evidence-based strategy for public schools to partner with local community organizations and families to ensure that children and families who are the furthest from opportunity have equitable access to the resources and support that they need to thrive. The Family Partnerships Coordinator (FPC) is a resource for families in need of triage services, works to identify needs, facilitates partnerships with providers and programs that support family system wellness, and leads the execution of family and community events that build positive culture and strengthen community ties.
This is a Full-Time, 40 Hour/Week position with the home base in South Portland, Maine. Work hours must be flexible. Some evening and weekend hours, travel and occasional overnight travel may be necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related Human Service field, or a combination of related education, training and professional level experiences preferably in human services, social services or related field required. Master’s Degree in Social Work or related Human Service field preferred.
3-5 years of experience serving families in social service, nonprofit, or school-based setting, required.
3-5 five years of experience effectively navigating complex systems and connecting families to needed resources preferred.
Bilingual or multi-lingual strongly preferred.
Experience planning and delivering programming that supports community-building preferred.
Knowledge of the important role that culture plays in youth & family development, and an ability to adapt interventions accordingly.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with diverse populations and teams.
Flexible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with complex information to address challenging situations.
Demonstrated ability to practice sound decision-making & good judgment in high stress situations.
Must have a distinct comfort level for working independently, while remaining mindful of role as part of a team
Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook required.
Contracts that have Rider D: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
Normal office conditions such as sitting, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.
Pay is competitive and will be based on experience and education.
