Job Description:

Legal Office Specialists is seeking an experienced paralegal with strong writing and organizational skills for our client, a busy solo practitioner in Florida specializing in family law. Candidates must have at least 2+ years of family law experience in the State of Florida, have experience with Clio and using the Florida efiling portal, are tech-savvy, and a fast learner and have previous experience working in a remote environment. Candidate must be able to work well independently while maintaining a high level of timeliness. Please only apply if you meet the qualifications.

While this is a contract position, candidates must be available to work during normal business hours Monday through Friday up to 15 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

• Database management of all relevant documents
• Draft various legal documents from templates including pleadings and motions
• E-file documents with the courts
• Assist with discovery production and review
• Conduct legal research when necessary
• Calendar court dates
• Communicate and document all client interactions using Clio
• Case review conference with Attorney once a week via phone or Zoom
• Client matter management
• Trial, mediation, and depositions preparation
• Administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Two or more years’ experience working on family law cases
• Extensive Florida Family Law experience
• Paralegal certificate or attestation is preferred
• Customer service-oriented communication skills
• Detailed, accurate, and an ability to handle confidential information
• Willingness to help wherever is needed
• Must have excellent software skills and be technologically savvy
• Proficiency in Clio software
• Time management and independent work skills
• Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work from home - i.e. a quite place to work, fast, reliable -internet connection, phone access
