The City of Clayton is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Athletics & Facilities Supervisor. The Assistant Athletics & Facilities Supervisor oversees the management of adult sports leagues, sports camps, athletic fields, volley ball court and gymnasium reservations. Assists the Athletic & Facilities Supervisor in the management of the tennis center, climbing wall and youth sports leagues.
Employee Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive starting salary range: $46,691 (minimum) - $55,212 (midpoint) DOQ. The full range for the position is currently $46,691 - $64,433.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver a safe and excellent customer service experience to our residents, members and patrons.
Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures, suggesting changes in current practices when
Manage daily operations of Adult Sports Leagues and Sports
Assist in managing the daily operations of Shaw Park Ice Rink, Youth Sports Leagues and Climbing Wall.
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate part time youth and adult sports staff. Assist in the hiring, training, and supervision of part time Ice Rink and Climbing Wall staff.
Identify current member and market trends in the sport camp and adult sport industry.
Assist in preparing and monitoring leagues, programs, sport camps and field and court reservation budgets.
Organize and supervise permits for residents and for outside leagues under contractual agreement for use of fields, sand volleyball courts and gymnasiums; formalize and monitor user agreements with the School District of Clayton and outside agencies for use of these facilities.
Assist in purchasing and monitoring commodities for leagues and sports
Assist with marketing and promotional efforts for sports department.
Plan, coordinate and evaluate all recreation and instructional programs and sports camps; hire and supervise contractual staff.
Instruct programs as needed; fill in for shift workers when necessary.
Assist in the supervision of The Center of Clayton by sharing in night and weekend supervisor responsibilities.
Assist with special events as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation or a closely related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience and education required.
- Minimum of one (1) years' experience in the parks and recreation field required.
- Certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid required within 3 months of employment.
