Summary Statement

The City of Boise' Public Works Facilities Program Management division is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Facility Project Coordinator.

  • Is assigned to plan a strong task-focus, execution role on the project
  • Leads one portion of a large project’s scope or is assigned to independently complete multiple tasks within a large project schedule
  • Assists the more senior project manager, program manager, or line of business manager in getting project tasks done, issues tracked, and coordination across other project team members
  • This position will assist the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager in the development of construction plans, estimates, and schedules for multiple facilities-related construction projects
  • Leads portions of projects through feasibility and/or facility location studies and conceptual design with a potential mix of both internal and external stakeholders
  • Upon project gate approval, the position assists or leads portions of engineering or construction projects with guidance received from a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, as needed
  • Leads budget tracking, invoice processing, attend project meetings, track action items, and log project documentation
  • The Project Manager or Senior Project Manager will also assign duties as needed

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

  • 2 years of experience acting as a project team member being assigned portions of projects to be completed, or
  • Some experience leading small, stand-alone projects

Level of Knowledge:
  • Project management principles, practices, and procedures
  • Contemporary business computer software and applications

Ability to:
  • Demonstrate organization and task-orientation skills
  • Understand and follow policies, procedures, and department objectives and use that knowledge when making decisions
  • Demonstrate detail orientation and strong focus on accuracy to ensure all project deadlines are being met, project documentation is being reviewed/ logged and budget is being continuously monitored
  • Communicate clearly, work well within a project team, and update stakeholders and team on project status
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of people in different roles, building strong working relationships
  • Demonstrate effective meeting and facilitation skills
  • Display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public, and other organizations
  • Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance
  • Complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies, and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance
  • Perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor, and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record

Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Computer science, Business, or related field, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience, and
  • Knowledge of construction/engineering project tasks including plan reviews, permitting processes, and construction phases
  • Familiarity with construction management and engineering principles, practices, and procedures, including estimating techniques for public works projects

Licensing And Other Requirements
  • Valid driver's license


Special Requirements

Applicants must be able to pass:
  • City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
  • Driving Record Check

Working Environment
