POSITION SUMMARY: The Facilities Maintenance I for FIRC Group will maintain the cleanliness and appearance of properties by consistent evaluation and necessary follow through. S/he will assist the other facilities staff, as directed by the Director of Engineering, in their efforts to manage the property in an efficient manner.

REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Checks and replaces exterior/interior lighting on a regular basis.
• Awareness of proper safety precautions at all times.
• Observes condition of facility properties, reports and/or initiates action to correct unsafe conditions.
• Ensures all storage areas remain locked when not in use.
• Power-wash all parking decks and additional facility areas as directed by Director of Engineering.
• Regularly details property areas. Cleans and rakes shrub areas, shovels when necessary. Uses blower to keep sidewalk and walking areas clean of loose grass and brush.
• Transfers trash and other items left outside of dumpster into dumpster. Picks up and sweeps area. Keeps dumpster/compactor doors closed on windy days.
• Checks and repairs windows, screens, sliding glass doors, etc. Performs routine maintenance on property as requested by manager.
• Maintains and helps clean storage and shop areas.
• Completes interior and exterior painting assignments as assigned.
• Changes locks, rekeys and makes keys when directed.
• Performs work area clean up and safety related duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a broad knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used within the facilities and maintenance trade.
• Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
• At least two years of related experience preferred.
