FACILITIES COORDINATOR

Under the guidance and supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance of assigned program buildings, vehicles, and the supervision of assigned maintenance technicians and custodial staff.


General Duties:

  • Review physical conditions of assigned centers daily.
  • Schedule and perform fire drills
  • Determine center equipment and repair needs.
  • Put in the Electronic Requisitions for facilities supplies.
  • Maintain updated supply inventory list.
  • Ensure that all safety and compliance standards for childcare facilities are met.
  • Attend health and safety meetings
  • Assign staff to clean and maintain facilities
  • Ensure lawn equipment and trucks have fuel
  • Supervise, evaluate, and train maintenance technicians and custodial workers. Update Professional Development Plans semi-annual or as needed.
  • Check Personnel Activity Reports (PAR’s) for accuracy with Time Card and approve payroll for Maintenance Technicians and Custodians.
  • Approve or deny time off requests and ensure adequate coverage of facilities
  • Respond to any and all security alarms at assigned Le Jardin locations 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
  • Maintain program vehicle. Ensure vehicle is safe.
  • Report all unsafe and hazardous facility and vehicle conditions to the Facility Manager immediately.
  • Ensure that exterior areas, lawns and sidewalks are clean and orderly.
  • Provide routine inspections of interior and exterior areas and follow up to ensure areas are free of safety hazards, trash, weeds, and other foreign materials, etc.
  • Complete safety checklist once per month at each center.
  • Prepare buildings and rooms for meetings or assign designee.
  • Create facilities report monthly for Facility Manager.
  • Ensure Air Conditioning units are operating properly.
  • Assist with community volunteer events.
  • Monitor center activity in promoting and maintaining a safe environment and ensure that appropriate standards of conduct are followed including directing traffic and surveillance of the center property.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required or recommended by Facilities Manager.
  • Enter Corrective Action Plan into ChildPlus, as appropriate.
  • Administration has the authority to assign additional duties as seen fit for the benefit of the organization


Qualifications

  • Ability to supervise and monitor maintenance technicians and custodians and assign tasks.
  • Must have Knowledge of the English language and follow directions when handling chemical solvents and cleaning equipment
  • Ability to pass written or oral tests in English
  • Knowledge of standards of facility maintenance.
  • Ability to make repairs to buildings and equipment.
  • Skills to exhibit caution when working with hazardous material and equipment.
  • Skills to determine most efficient manner to maintain large facilities.
  • Maintain valid Florida driver’s license
  • Able to work evening or weekend projects, as needed
  • Able to lift and carry 70 pounds.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.
