Very busy dog daycare/boarding facility needs experienced groomer. We already do baths, nails, and ears but we have lots of customers who would like full grooming services (cuts as well), and some people take their dog to other places because of our lack of full service grooming. Enter you. You are experienced (more than 2 years should be adequate), good with people as well as grooming dogs, and know your craft with all breeds because we see them all. The listed pay and hours range is so wide because I am open to paying someone an hourly rate, commission, or collecting rent for space and letting you set pricing and collecting the revenue and paying the taxes yourself. You would most likely be able to make the most money by choosing the last option, but you would also own your own business, which comes with it's own set of headaches. Some people like the idea, some people just want to clock in and out and no worrying about the business side of things, other than saying thank you for tips. If you choose to be an hourly employee, you would be expected to do other jobs when there is no grooming to do. Mostly office work but some cleaning to help out as well. In the past we have cut off grooming at certain busy times of the day because we need everyone helping run the daycare side of things, but with a groomer that won't be the case, so we will have to see how busy we can keep a full time groomer. Having said that, we have around 100 dogs per day, so keeping one professional groomer busy shouldn't be a problem. We stay fairly busy with just baths, nails, ears without trying. You would be the only groomer at the daycare voted Best of Mount Pleasant for the last 2 years, so keeping you busy won't be a problem and we also won't have our reputation diminished by someone who doesn't know what they're doing or someone who doesn't recognize the importance of excellent customer service.

Please include a resume (if you have one) and also let me know if you plan on a full time or part time arrangement. We also need to know what days you can or can not work because we are open 7 days a week, so we may need to hire 2 groomers, or split rent between 2 groomers so that customers can be taken care of regardless of what day they need service. Also, if you have any thoughts on whether you would like to be an employee or your own business owner who simply pays rent to work out of my daycare/boarding facility, that would be helpful information as well. If you would prefer to pay rent, you will probably need around $5,000 to get yourself started and to get through your first few months of accumulating a client list and possibly paying your own employee(s) to run the grooming when you can't be there (remember we're open 70 hours a week), though that's just a high guess at worst case scenario because we already do enough light grooming for the right person to step in and immediately make good money.
