Sunnyside Communities is a Senior Living not-for-profit organization that support three life plans communities across the state of Virginia and a home office based out of Harrisonburg, VA. Approximately 800 residents consider our communities home. Sunnyside Communities is currently seeking a talented Executive Director for our largest life plan community located in the picturesque Shenandoah Valley region of Western Virginia. The 150-acre campus, which became operational in that location in 1955 and today is home to approximately 500 residents and provides a full array of amenities and services with a team of over 300 employees.
The Executive Director, reporting to the President & CEO, has substantional management responsibility over the daily operations of the Sunnyside campus and is expected to have demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of administration and a high level of performance while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. A strong working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid, especially as it relates to regulations, policies and processes, financial management, budget preparation, cash flow management and financial analysis is expected as well as the ability to develop and implement an annual business plan that achieves financial goals and maintains high occupancy levels through sustainable marketing strategies. The ability to work and communicate effectively and diplomatically with a variety of people including residents, staff, boards, community groups, and government agencies is required as well as a strong acumen for engaging residents and motivating employees. The ideal candidate will be expected to build on the strong reputation of Sunnyside Communities and continuously deliver exceptional customer service, high quality programs, and strong financial performance.
Requirements:
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in health or Business Administration required, Masters preferred
- VA Nursing Home Administrator’s license strongly preferred
Other Requirements:
- Sunnyside Communities requires all team members to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
- 5-10 years of leadership experience in health care industry strongly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Regulatory compliance- Support and maintain working knowledge of labor legislation, local, state, and federal regulations
- Financial Management- Lead and support department managers with budget planning and utilization, approve and oversee budgetary decisions
- Operations- Ensure operational efficiencies are maintained, using innovation and problem-solving to best serve the community
- Talent Management- Support talent succession planning and development and training in keeping a pulse on workforce trends
- Emergency Preparedness- This role requires a steady and even quell mindset in serious and emergency situations. This role must be able to recognize problems before they come disasters and operate proactively
