General:

The Tour General Manager functions as a leader, manager and developer of safety-conscious people and scalable processes to plan, coordinate and execute events against our primary objective of delivering SAFE, profitable and memorable Supercar Driving experiences. In the office this position will cultivate talent and ownership among individuals through effective leadership, clear communication, and event-based metrics. The Tour General Manager will oversee the entire Open Road Event and support each department to keep events safe, on-schedule and profitable.

Expectations:

Day-to-day duties will consist of but are not limited to:

  • Manage the cycle of Pre-Event, At-Track and Post-Event routines (self & team)
  • Work with event staff to ensure all company needs and requests are met in order to produce the highest quality of entertainment.
  • Mediation (in conjunction with the HR Department when appropriate) of work-related disputes.
  • Confidence in managing and distributing documentation of Human Resources related issues pertaining to Records of Discussion for positive and learning opportunities/mistakes, along with discipline practices.
  • Operation of the events within established budgets, and explanation of items or situations that result in budget variances.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistently high level of production and performance quality.
  • Continually seeking to improve the operational efficiency and quality of their assigned events, and maintaining or improving the operational efficiency.
  • Responsible for following and administering of the rules, regulations and guidelines set forth by Xtreme Xperience.
  • Collects and distributes information that pertains to tour personnel, tour accommodations, transportation, medical as it relates to Workers Comp and Insurance claims, personnel lists and documentation and the contact information between the traveling teams and head offices.
  • Leads a “key” touring event team. Provides leadership and logistic coordination for the assigned event through the monitoring and guidance of the event’s staff and contractors.
  • Preparing (in accordance with contract terms and established policies) and submitting weekly payroll for their assigned event.
  • Responsible for oversight, and if necessary, completion of all tasks normally performed by tour staff personnel.
  • Responsible for the presentation of the event from a technical and production standpoint.
  • Direct supervisor of the tour personnel.
  • Responsible for the movement of the event equipment from city to city in conjunction with corporate transportation.
  • Responsible for submitting event reports for each engagement on a timely basis to Event Coordinators.
  • Responsible for the arranging and purchasing of event related supplies as they relate to the event.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Three years of experience in an operations or event management role
  • Responsible for own professional standards of conduct, appearance and work performance.
  • The ability to read and interpret documentation such as contracts, blueprints, operation/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and hiring guidelines; and to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • The ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form, and the ability to solve practical problems and interpret diverse instructions in a variety of forms.
  • Ability to analyze current event capacity and adjust operations accordingly
  • Critical Thinker - Understand how all departments interact and how to create on the spot solutions without getting overwhelmed
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • The ability and willingness to travel domestically 100% of the time.

The Open Road General Manager could be required to travel to and attend up to 23 event weekends

throughout the calendar year, in conjunction with a 40-hour office work week. Time off during an event may be permitted with appropriate planning and sourcing of a substitute (XX team members are available to substitute for planned vacations or emergency time-off requests).
