The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Game Day and Major Events, Program Manager. The UEE division leads the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives. As part of the event management role, the division is responsible for the planning and execution of a wide range of University events from Commencement to concerts and special events on football game weekends. The division is a major contributor of revenue to the University's mission and employs the largest number of staff on campus with over 1,200 full-time, part-time, temporary, and on-call staff.

Why this position?
The position of Game Day and Major Events Program Manager is a candidate that will oversee a variety of event and hospitality efforts associated with home football and major event weekends at the University of Notre Dame. These responsibilities would include general oversight of the Guest Service Team (GST) program (which consists of approximately 60 part-time employees), creation of staffing plans, training materials, and resource coordination, project management of select fan-facing events, recommendation and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocol, content creator of relevant communication outlets (social media, website, etc.), implementation and distribution of signage, guides, and reference materials, budget management, and the stewardship of additional hospitality efforts that enhance the fan experience. This person would also assist with, and in some cases own, the planning and execution of major stadium and arena events, as well as other events as assigned. The successful candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills; excellent project and event management skills; ability to interface with a variety of audiences including key University leaders; understanding of proper and appropriate etiquette and protocol; and is trustworthy with extremely sensitive information.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in Communications, marketing, business, non-profit administration or similar degree.
    • 3 to 4 years of experience
    • Excellent communications skills (both verbal and oral) are required.
    • Individual should demonstrate a mastery of the Microsoft Suite software package, especially a strong skill set in Excel, and have the ability to master University software programs such as Advance and BEAT.
    • Knowledge and mastery of G Suite functions necessary.
    • Project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines; excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to interact with diverse constituencies in appropriate, positive ways and to handle sensitive/confidential information properly.
    • Event management and execution experience is also required.
