SUMMARY STATEMENT

To present a courteous and professional image to all church members and visitors while assisting the Director of Support Services in maintaining a secure and safe environment for the church and day school.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential:

• Recruits, trains, and assists security volunteers.
• Assists Security Manager in scheduling security volunteer work hours.
• Maintains high visibility foot patrol throughout the facility/property.
• Conducts physical security checks of the facility/property.
• Conducts the nighttime lockup of the facility with the assistance of Housekeeping Staff.
• Secures all areas of the facility that are not in use, to include turning off unnecessary utilities.
• Assists church and day school staff, church members and visitors in the event of a crime, using all appropriate investigative resources.
• Investigates suspicious persons and/or vehicles.
• Documents in detail all criminal and serious security related occurrences.
• Provides assistance to all people on the property in whatever capacity necessary when feasible.
• Assist the Director of Support Services with other duties as needed.

Marginal:

• Assist other departments within Support Services on a case by case basis.
• Proficient with eSpace software.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS OR STANDARDS

• 
  Good judgment in handling a variety of situations both in person and by radio/telephone.
• Be capable and trustworthy in handling sensitive information in a confidential manner.
• Have the ability to communicate clearly and simply.
• Good people and relational skills.
• Be proficient in the use of computers and security-related equipment, such as digital security surveillance equipment.
• Have the ability to make and keep commitments promptly.
• Capable of thinking through the consequences of actions and understanding the effect of those actions on others.
• Have the ability to address the needs of church members, staff and visitors in a pleasant, professional manner and with an attitude of service.
• Flexibility in handling changes in work priorities and schedules.
• Have the ability to perform the duties of this position without close supervision.
