Environmental Professional (Mid-Level) Job at AGEISS Inc.
We are looking to place a Mid-Level Environmental Professional with experience in environmental policy and a background in environmental remediation or compliance to support the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Energy, and Environment (SAF/IEE) in the greater Washington, DC area. This is a remote position with the requirement to travel to the Pentagon on an as-needed basis.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provide technical and program management support to the Environmental Directorate of SAF/IEE.
- Act in accordance with new regulatory and policy development on Emerging Contaminants (e.g., Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances [PFAS]) and provide technical recommendations.
- Serve as the lead point of contact on quick-turn tasks for the Environmental Directorate.
- Coordinate, gather, and draft substantiating information from necessary Department of the Air Force (DAF) counterparts and use to draft correspondence to assist senior leaders in responding to Congressional, gubernatorial, and constituent inquiries.
- Provide detailed updates to leadership and stakeholders by participating in meetings/forums and coordinating, consolidating, developing, and delivering and/or presenting associated meeting materials (e.g., slides, after action reports, minutes).
- Coordinate, consolidate, develop, and maintain environmental governance and programmatic documents (e.g., Air Force Instructions [AFIs], policies, procedures); action plan(s); and recommendations.
- Coordinate completion of enterprise-wide taskers under tight deadlines by tasking counterpart DAF organizations through a centralized management tool.
- Perform program analysis to support the planning, development, and sustainment of environmental programs.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other organizations to develop amplifying guidance for the implementation of Department of Defense (DoD) policies.
- Prepare Bullet Background Papers (BBPs) and associated electronic Staff Summary Sheets (eSSSs) for senior leader travel.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Environmental Program Management, possessing strong knowledge of the Air Force programs; DoD corporate processes; Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA); environmental policies; guidance; and regulations.
- Ability to independently review technical reports and studies, prepare written comments/responses, collaborate with/lead complex teams, and analyze/interpret strategies and guidance from senior Air Force leaders.
- Possess a working knowledge of Federal, state, and/or local regulations and statutes, as well as Air Force or DoD regulations and documentation.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor in a highly dynamic work environment.
- Ability to successfully pass a Federal agency background check and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.
- Proficiency with MS Office Applications (Word and Excel).
- Motivated self-starters requested.
