Under the direction of the Environmental Health and Safety Manager for PBI-Gordon Companies, this position will develop, revise, and administer site specific EHS policies and programs for the PBI Gordon Corporation Subsidiary of PBI Gordon Companies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop, revise, and administer programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to environmental, health and safety applicable to the Company’s locations.
• Develop and implement training programs and monitor their performance to ensure that all required training is performed and effective.
• Champion all aspects of EHS programs for all PBI Gordon Corporation locations.
• Ensure collection and reporting of information from Company locations is completed as required to meet Corporate and Governmental reporting requirements.
• Ensure that all facilities manage hazardous and nonhazardous waste within local state and federal requirements.
• Assist site leadership during incident investigations and root cause corrective action plans and corrective action implementation.
• Audit facilities to evaluate the effectiveness of local programs. Provide audit & action plan follow-up/assistance.
• Provide advice and guidance to operational and functional staff regarding current and anticipated EHS issues.

• High School diploma and 5+ years’ experience, or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, safety, environmental science, or related field preferred.
• With a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment working with Federal OSHA regulations, including the development and implementation of compliance programs and worker training and Federal EPA, state and local environmental regulations, including the management of hazardous and universal wastes, stormwater, and community right to know reporting requirements.

• Ability to lead and mentor specialized knowledge or training such as: Ergonomics, Powered Industrial Trucks, Material Handling, Electrical Safety, Incident Investigations and Emergency Procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues with varying levels of EHS knowledge.
• Ability to assess and evaluate environmental, health and safety exposures and risks.
• Ability to use Microsoft Suite and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere and to work independently.
• Ability to function under a shared services model.
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Strong presentation & organizational skills.
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
• Travel required in this position: 10-15%
