Environmental Compliance Engineer Job at DeSilva Gates Construction
DeSilva Gates Aggregates is seeking an Environmental Compliance Engineer to join our team in the San Francisco Bay Area. We specialize in the mining and production of construction aggregates from our own sources, Asphalt Concrete Production at three Asphalt Plants, as well as mine planning and reclamation.
Responsibilities:
- Review Reclamation Plans and regulatory permits to assure compliance with all conditions of approval, maintain working relationships with necessary regulatory testing and compliance agencies to assure timely reporting on all applicable conditions.
- Communicate effectively with local agencies as well as state and federal regulatory agencies to maintain compliance with current permits and to stay current on evolving regulatory issues in the industry that may impact our operations.
- Communicate with consulting firms and environmental regulatory agencies during project planning and ongoing projects.
- Manage the review and evaluation of multiple projects that are in various stages of completion.
- Other duties as directed by management staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Materials or Geology.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the field of civil construction material production.
- Extensive knowledge of industry-standard regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of environmental data for both water quality and soil regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office and Excel. Ability to learn new programs quickly.
- Ability to thrive, prioritize, communicate, and meet goals in a dynamic environment and fast paced industry.
- Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with personnel of all levels.
- Able to work alone and enjoy sharing knowledge with others for the success of the organization.
- Detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
