Part time position includes opportunities to work from home while delivering online instruction and in workplace settings when offering instruction to incumbent workers. Requires travel to program and partner sites in Northumberland (Milton/Sunbury and surrounding areas) and Union counties.

Position is responsible for delivering instruction, administering assessments and providing career and academic awareness and exploration activities for adult English as a Second Language (ESL) learners. The instructor may teach basic mathematics; reading, writing, listening/speaking in English; career exploration and workforce education; digital and financial literacy in multiple contexts below the postsecondary level. Instruction may be customized for local employer needs and may take place at an employer’s site. Delivery of instruction may be in-person or conducted remotely using Zoom® web meetings.

New increased wage: $18.00 - 20.00 hour depending on qualifications. Part time non-exempt position not to exceed working 14 hours per week.

Education and Experience Required:

• The minimum requirements are a Bachelor’s degree with experience teaching English language learners. A Master’s degree in education, adult education, English as a Second Language instruction or related field preferred.
• Experience teaching adult learners preferred.
• Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data entry, email and experience managing file sharing with Google Drive. Adept at using virtual meeting platforms such as Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize the task based on project deadlines. And must be able to type accurately and maintain a high level of productivity.
• Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers, community agency personnel, and students/trainees.
• Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations.
