Roles & Responsibilities:

      • Clinical/Technical/Service
        • Provides 24 hour/day, 7 day/week supply and equipment management support to all Emergency Department clinical, service, and administrative staff.
        • Coordinates/supervises the monitoring, maintenance, and service of equipment in the Emergency Department; works with Emergency Department staff, Biomedical Engineering and Engineering to ensure equipment remains in good working order
        • Coordinates/supervises minor repairs on equipment in the department
        • Oversees inventory management of supplies for the department, including:


      Identification of supply needs; ordering of supplies



      The receipt, inventory, and distribution of supplies to end-users

      Following up with purchasing and supervisor to resolve delivery problems; coordinating vendor returns Reconciles outstanding receipt invoice concerns


      Oversees supply room maintenance and clean up

      Supervises regular physical inventorying of supplies, to check for expired supplies/equipment, remove expired supplies/equipment from the unit, and rotate stock (oldest to newest) to eliminate waste.

      • Oversees supply cart stocking, management, and turnover
      • Monitors/maintains proper gas cylinder storage in the department
      • Delegates assignments to Inventory & Equipment Handlers within the department
      • Enforces disciplinary actions as warranted
      • Handles special projects as assigned by management
      • Responsible for ensuring work assigned for a shift is completed satisfactorily, and that assignments are prioritized appropriately
      • Performs other related duties as assigned by Management
      • Safeguards SLR property, equipment, and supplies from damage and theft
      • Ensures work area remains neat/clean; maintains cleanliness of supply storage areas and equipment
      • Organizational/Managerial
        • Orients and trains staff on an ongoing basis
        • Determines staffing levels.
        • Creates schedules and ensures the department is adequately staffed at all times.
        • Completes payroll submissions.
        • Monitors lateness and absenteeism of staff.
        • Monitors and evaluates staff job performance.
        • Completes annual evaluations on a timely basis.
        • Ensures accuracy and completeness of staff work submissions.
        • Participates in the department's performance improvement activities
        • Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information
        • Observes the Health Care System's compliance policies
        • Attends in-services and other meetings as required
      • Educational/Professional Development
        • Participates in the development of other staff members
        • Meets regulatory, licensure, and annual health assessment requirements
        • Identifies learning strengths and needs
        • Utilizes learning resources
      • Communication/Relationships
        • Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, families, and significant others
        • Displays courtesy, tact, and patience during interactions with all members of the hospital staff and extended community

      EDUCATION REQUIRED

      High School graduate; some college preferred.

      EXPERIENCES AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED

      Must be able to lift and handle heavy packages. Two years of inventory and equipment management experience required (Emergency Department).

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $80,818.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
