Job Duties:

• Cell new product development project management
• Iterative product development project management
• Advise on proper cell selection by application
• New and existing cell supplier technical relationship development
• Supplier interface and support
• Acquisition and modeling application profiles for tools and charging
• SBD global manufacturing and reliability test facilities support and interface
• Competitive product, warranty review, failure analysis cell teardowns
• Support of internal customers and participation on cross-functional teams such as pack, charger, tool, reliability, and sourcing
• Support of sourced and licensed SBD product
• Participation in safety, compliance, and liability reviews
• Accurate and timely test reporting to internal and external customers
• Contribute to and lead DFMEA sessions with engineering teams
• Experimental investigations
• Diagnostic procedure development
• Data analytics and reporting

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Materials Engineering
• 1-3 years' experience in cell materials and chemistries of lithium batteries, and knowledge about cell manufacturing technology
• Familiarity with industrial chemical process manufacturing techniques and their process controls such as powder processing, mixing, coating, slitting, blanking, metal joining, electroplating, crimping, vacuum systems
• Experience with electrochemical testing protocols and battery testing equipment
• Experience with electromechanical design
• Experience with manufacturing quality control methods
• Successful track record with technical project management
• Hands-on mechanical skills and experienced in construction analysis, teardowns, and failure analysis
• Desired experience in an interfacing role in either supplier development or customer field applications support
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Test, data acquisition design and Excel data reporting experience
• Flexible and creative in a dynamic product development environment
• Potential for international travel up to 10%
