EHS Specialist Job at South Mill Champs
Job Description:
Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
Inspects safety equipment; recommends replacements.
Drafts and implements internal safety standards and policies.
Reviews accidents and incidents reported by employees and visitors to the facility.
Process and manage reports: EPCRA Tier II Annual Report, PSM (Process Safety Management) Reports for Ammonia, Biennial Hazardous Waste Report, Public Waste Systems Report, Air Permit, Above Ground Storage Tank (AST) Reports Reporting, DEP Waste Tire Reports, Fire Safety Reports, Insurance Reporting, and EPA Risk Management Plans
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to conduct training.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field strongly preferred.
- Health and safety certification required.
- One year of related experience preferred.

Regularly required to participate in Planning Meetings, Executive Staff Meetings and General Staff Meetings.
Cognitive Skills:
Always required to think, evaluate, and make decisions.
Always required to speak and comprehend English, Spanish or both.
