What we’re looking for in you

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Minimum of three years clinical experience working inpatient setting
• Current knowledge of nursing theories, practices and techniques
• Knowledge of curriculum development and principles of adult learning and learner-centered learning methodologies
• Skilled in problem solving techniques and solution oriented
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and medical intervention techniques
• Demonstrated competence in leading learning workshops/forums, facilitating small group discussions, instructor-led classroom programs, and online learning programs
• Demonstrated skills in delivering clear and engaging presentations
• Demonstrated effectiveness in presenting or conducting clinical education
• Ability to assess educational needs and implement appropriate education to meet those needs
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with nursing leadership, peers, staff, students, and volunteers
• Ability to travel between multiple St. Croix Valley hospitals and clinics
• Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license with regular renewal
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or BLS from American Red Cross (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) for Professional Rescuer and Health Care Provider)

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Nursing or Education
• Specialty Nursing Certification

The skills/experience you bring as a Nurse Educator – Site Based

Required:

• Maintains current knowledge of hospital procedures and patient care practices specific to areas taught
• Maintains professional expertise through reading, continuing education, in-services, conferences, etc.

The purpose of the Nurse Educator

As a Nurse Educator you will foster development of evidence-based clinical practice and adheres to quality and compliance measures for the clinical departments at Lakeview Hospital. Demonstrates professional learning behaviors and encourages engagement in evidence-based nursing practice. Partners with Valley Learning and Development and Valley Clinical Educators to develop standardization across the St. Croix Valley, to coordinate and implement ongoing nursing education programs based on needs assessment, regulatory requirements, organizational priorities and standards, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement plans
