Editor
The Editor is adept at preparing patent files for data entry by performing a variety of tasks. These include but are not limited to: research of all data elements to be published, verifying the accuracy of data, assembling all required Header, Drawings, CWU, and Text documents, examining text, marking text and solving problems.
Accountabilities
- Verifies the accuracy, completeness and legibility of all patent data-making corrections, additions or deletions as appropriate.
- Searches entire application file locating all pages with live patent text; Sorts and assembles pages in a prescribed sequence.
- Indicates appropriate data for inclusion or exclusion, identifies and marks artwork, CWU and CRC.
- Identifies and prepares all necessary Header, Text and Drawing information.
- May assist in training new employees when requested.
- May train other production employees on assigned projects.
- May recommend changes in program and routines to improve efficiency within the team environment.
- May prepare and maintain quality feedback and other statistical records within the department.
- Maintains Quantity/Quality metrics.
- Performs job according to current ISO procedures.
- Participates in periodic team meetings, activities and projects.
- Interacts with others in a professional manner.
- May multitask between several departments as needed.
- May assist in the writing and maintaining of manuals and/or work instructions.
- Performs other job related duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Good verbal, written and organizational skills.
- Ability to acquire and retain vast amounts of information.
- Strong attention to and concern for detail.
- Concentration; ability to perform routine repetitive tasks reliably and accurately.
- Problem solving ability.
- Recognition and interpretation of various elements of copy.
- Ability to follow written standardized procedures.
- Ability to work with others in a team and office setting.
- Ability meet scheduled deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications.
- Ability to pass all pre-employment testing.
