Job Summary:

We are a non-emergency wheelchair and stretcher transportation provider dedicated to providing quality transportation to our Clients for the Gainesville VA Medical Center 24/7, 365 days a year. We are searching for professional drivers who are dedicated, punctual, courteous, and have a flexible schedule.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Pick-up clients at home or other living facility using company provided vehicle. Provides the assistance required to safely board clients and caregivers.
• Transport clients to medical appointments and clinics in Jacksonville, Gainesville, and surrounding counties.
• Ensures wheelchairs, stretchers, and passengers are properly secured before starting vehicle.
• On arrival at medical facility, assists clients in exiting the vehicle and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas.
• Check the vehicle to ensure that no personal items are left behind.
• Follow company safety and operational rules and procedures.
• Operate mobile devices, company email, various software systems and operate GPS unit.
• Pre and post-vehicle safety and maintenance checks.
• Follow safe loading and unloading procedures.
• Communicate transport details with dispatch.
• Possess a friendly and courteous attitude when transporting clients.
• Other functions may be assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Must hold a currently valid driver's license and have an excellent driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent and fluency in English required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and position clients frequently.*
• Must be able to perform considerable reaching, stooping, and bending.*
• Ability to drive for over an hour, when required*

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, MVR screening, TB screening, and physical.
• Report to work on time and in proper uniform.
• Maintain a strong attendance record.
• Safely operate a wheelchair passenger and stretcher transportation vehicle.
• Possession of the patience necessary for contact with clients, and their caregivers.
• Must be reliable and capable of working independently and remaining calm in case of emergency.
• Must be flexible to work early morning, mid-morning, and late evening hours.*

• Full-Time and Part-Time $16.85 hr - $17.70 hr plus an additional $4.23 hr in benefits.
