Director of Preschool Job at The Haven

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keep current knowledge of all Health & Safety Standards, Abuse Laws, Standards, Core Assurances, Florida Department of Health Standards for Childcare, Outcomes Measurements and The Haven’s Agency and program policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with agency and funding source requirements.
  • Assist in the on-going training of staff to meet standards for all licensing and funding sources.
  • Maintain current required certification for all staff; CPR/First Aid, HIV, TB, physicals, 40/20 hrs and CMS requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with all State and federal regulations, Health Department and Department of Children and Families regulations, fire inspection standards, state and federal child care standards and school boards of Sarasota and Manatee counties.
  • Preparation of Program Budget
  • Responsibility for management and administration of Selby Preschool.
  • Attends Senior Leadership Team Meeting
  • Promotes achievement of students and agency objectives by complying with policies/procedures and directives
  • Participates in community and state-based organizations that advocate for the welfare of preschool students and other programs.
  • Participates in appropriate workshops and educational forums involving preschool special needs children and relevant childcare and preschool issues.
  • Acts as liaison to continue interagency cooperation in the best interest of all programs at The Haven.
  • Conduct staff training meetings and assure best practices are used.
  • Review applications, interview and hire new staff.
  • Complete intake and orientation for all staff.
  • Assure proper Family Support Services for children enrolled in preschool
  • Purchase or approve all preschool purchases, responsible for inventory control.
  • Assists in keeping manuals of standards, policies and procedures current.
  • Assists in maintaining and monitoring consumer files and provide teachers and transportation staff with current consumer information.
  • Maintains compliance with grants and contracts concerning student programming and management.
  • Assists in collection of program data and completion of outcome measurements reports.
  • Responsible for Support Plans, individual implementation plan and maintain the Family Support Plans on all Consumers.
  • Develop Program forms and systems.
  • Keep manuals of standards, policies and procedures correct.
  • Responsible of maintaining all attendance data and reporting data to appropriate agencies and The Haven contracted financial service
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the President and CEO or COO.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Two years’ experience in administration in human services
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or related field
  • Active Florida Director Credential
  • Good Communication and Organizational Skills
  • Computer Technical Skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
