Director of Patient Financial Services, Signet Health - North Richland Hills TX
Signet Health is seeking experienced behavioral health business office/billing professionals for a new Director of Patient Financial Services located in North Richland Hills, TX. This is a full-time, in-office position.
The Director of Patient Financial Services oversees daily management of the billing function of revenue cycle operations. Oversight includes case management, denials and appeals, quality management & utilization review areas and supervision of billing staff for authorizations and claims and comply with all regulatory and governmental requirements.
We offer a generous market-competitive compensation package with a starting salary range between $110,000 - $120,000/year. This position will report to the Vice President, Reimbursement and Financial Analysis.
Primary responsibilities:
- Thorough knowledge of psychiatric billing practices for inpatient and outpatient services.
- Provides operational coordination. Manages inpatient and outpatient business operations, including referral management, scheduling, authorization, charge entry and billing practice, denial management, and reimbursement. Demonstrates high levels of customer service.
- In collaboration with the leadership team, reviews and refines business operation goals and specific charging strategies to ensure optional reimbursement and compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Performs overall revenue management including satisfying timely filing requirements and maximizing billing revenue and collections, and resolution of denied/rejected claims.
- Ensure billing and coding for all current and new medical services lines are accurate, consistent, and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Working knowledge of UB Billing and CPT, Revenue, and ICD coding for psychiatry.
- Anticipates regulatory and reimbursement changes to establish strategies for optimizing financial operations.
- Coaches and develops staff and uses effective orientation and professional development for the team.
- Plan, develop, organize, and implement processes to ensure timely and accurate claims processing.
- Mentor and develop Claims Processing staff toward expansion of job roles to meet the continuous challenges and changes of the health care environment, contracts and governmental regulations, including promoting the ability to respond effectively to innovative initiatives.
- Develops and modifies job descriptions as necessary. Complete timely performance appraisals on direct reports.
- Compiles and provides accurate reports of monthly, quarterly, and annual AR statistics.
- Keeps abreast of developments in Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance admission and billing requirements.
- Maintains unbilled days at the established corporate goal.
- Monitors patient accounts receivables aging and develop plan for maintaining proper coverage on all accounts.
- Completes and confirms Pre-certifications and insurance verification for all patients prior to admission.
Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of psychiatric/behavioral health billing codes. A minimum of 5 years of related hospital and professional work experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of Collaborative MD Billing/EHR Software highly preferred. We will also be investigating other systems so familiarity with other software, specifically geared toward behavioral health is a plus.
- CPT certification with working knowledge of physician coding specifically for psychiatry.
- Ability to relate well with clients and direct reports.
- Report production and presentation skills.
