POSITION TITLE: Director of Instruction 3 - 5
FLSA: Exempt
REORTS TO: Superintendent
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month employment based on School Board approved calendar.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate school administrator licensure
- Minimum of three years of effective teaching experience
- Coaching and school leadership experience preferred
- Masters degree in Education or related field of study
- Proven leadership skills
- Collaborative and interpersonal skills
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervise Teachers, Instructional Assistants, Interventionist, and Media Coordinator.
2. Work in collaboration with school based and curriculum teams to make curriculum recommendations.
3. Provide direction in accordance to the instructional vision, directions, and priorities of Rocky Mount Prep.
4. Plan, coordinate, and implement the process for teacher evaluations in collaboration with the Superintendent and Instructional Coaches.
5. Model and coach teachers in the implementation of Teach Like a Champion strategies.
6. Model and coach instructional coaches in providing feedback.
7. Provide feedback to teachers and Instructional Coaches.
8. Monitor, support, and provide accountability for teacher progress in the Get Better Faster Protocol.
9. Monitor and analyze data and make informed decisions and develop strategies for increased proficiency and growth for each scholar.
10. Convene lead teachers to engage, support, and disseminate instructional information.
11. Coordinate leadership efforts within school.
12. Plan, implement, and monitor Professional Learning Communities for effectiveness.
13. Serve as a consultant to the Dean of Culture regarding student discipline, establishing systemic routines and procedures for classrooms and common areas, scheduling, and planning cultural events.
14. Support and guide discussion in regard to retention of scholars and staff members.
15. Provide recommendations for hire to the Superintendent.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Build a daily schedule to optimize scholar learning, support remediation and enrichment, and exposure to core curriculum enhancing scholar interests.
2. Coordinate professional development activities for the division and support the coordination and
implementation for the campus.
3. Establish teacher duty schedule to support safety for scholar and teacher well-being.
4. Lead coordinating curriculum events, i.e. Curriculum Nights, RtA Night.
5. Lead and/or support the coordination of community based partnerships.
6. Be available as needed to host and support evening activities.
7. Establish supportive relationships within the community.
8. Establish community partners to meet scholars' needs.
9. Collaborate with the appropriate personnel to ensure scholar needs are met.
10. Coordinate with the appropriate personnel to ensure staff needs are met.
11. Lead in a way that supports capacity building, efficacy, and mastery of the craft.
12. Develop systems and routines for the efficient operations of the school division.
13. Collaborate with the necessary personnel to ensure systems and processes are carried out with fidelity.
14. Plan, coordinate, and prepare curriculum purchases for approval.
15. Other duties as assigned.
