What will you be responsible for?


Responsible for developing and executing a global inclusion, diversity and equity strategy supporting Newmont’s culture, people vision, strategy and business objectives. Serve as an internal mentor to HR, business leaders and employees on a journey to establish a more inclusive, diverse and equitable organization.

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:


  • We craft and develop the governance, policies, procedures, action plans, and tools that support the Inclusion, Diversity and Equity strategy.
  • We partner with HR teams and business leaders and employees globally to design and implement specific regional and national action plans in support of the broader strategy.
  • We work closely with leadership in support of Newmont’s Safe, Equitable, and Healthy workplace program.
  • We partner with key senior leadership to prepare and/or present global inclusion, diversity and equity communications to Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team.
  • We create performance indicators to measure global outcomes, as well as metrics aligned with regional business needs; partner with Global Workforce Planning team to ensure that valuable metrics and tools are delivered to key collaborators
  • We develop strategies with talent management with a focus on building leadership accountability for employee development, succession planning, engagement, retention and advancement in alignment with inclusion, diversity and equity strategy
  • We ensure robust change management and communications plans that support the Inclusion, Diversity and Equity strategy.
  • We cultivate a culture that is inclusive, innovative, willing to try new things, and that proactively uses multiple dimensions of diversity.
  • We serve as subject matter authorities for all diversity related initiatives globally to build diversity capabilities of leaders within the organization.
  • We collaborate with Sustainability & External Relations to identify and lead key external partnerships to support Newmont’s ESG (Environmental, Social, & Governance) strategy and reputation

Your training, skills, & experience checklist


  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 12+ years of leadership experience as a strong leader and collaborator who provides an environment to empower and engage others in inspiring change aligned to the business priorities
  • Experience leading diversity and inclusion programs with a large global corporation
  • Experience in the development and rollout of diversity training programs
  • Deep experience in partnering across multiple collaborators and providing an environment of constructive dialogue to focus on problem-solving and engaging others in solution generation
  • Ability to lead and be a member of the cross-functional multi-disciplinary team(s)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations to executive-level leadership
  • Broad intuition for business with the ability to inspire change
  • Deep knowledge of diversity management practices, concepts and trends

Working conditions & location


  • This position is located in the Denver Corporate Office
  • Operate a personal computer for the purposes coordinating, scheduling and tracking interviews using Outlook, Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Domestic and International travel 25%
  • Willingness to put in extra hours as travel, projects and priorities dictate; ability to accommodate meeting times outside typical business hours to attend global calls, etc.


The salary range offered for this role is $157,420 to 194,460. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.


This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
