Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced candidate for our Director of Communications position.

The Director of Communications is responsible for all marketing and public relations activities as directed by the Chief Executive Officer as requested. They also research and write grants for a variety of programs and services.

This full time (35) hour per week role is located at our Fall River MA Corporate office offers a partially remote option.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Duties include the development and implementation of an overall communication/marketing strategy for the agency in order to heighten community awareness of the services it provides. This also includes the development and dissemination of brochures, flyers, annual reports, the agency website, social media, and other marketing materials used to publicize the agency. Oversees agency communications and branding in various online and print platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and industry magazines.
• Oversees the development and maintenance of the corporate website including methods to deliver message, ease of navigation, and clarity of information; ensures that all content is current and relevant.
• Represents the agency on a variety of community boards and committees as directed by the Chief Administration Officer. Handles all press relations including the writing and issuing of agency news releases and serving as “spokesperson” for the agency when information is sought by the local press. This also includes the development of both paid advertising and free public service announcements in local media in an effort to publicize agency activities.
• Seeks out potential new sources of revenue for the agency including private grants and foundations, state contracts, and other possible sources.
• Identify and research grant funding opportunities that are consistent with mission, and share information options with Sr. leadership.
• In collaboration with program leadership, determine proposal concept by identifying needs, studying the requests for proposals, and all related requirements. Coordinates requirements with contributors, and ensures all elements of the proposal are complete.
• Writes, revises, and edits drafts including executive summaries, and ensures the submission thoroughly and appropriately responds to all elements of the RFP. Ensures the final submission is properly reviewed and submitted by the deadline.
• Monitor grant tracking requirements, and ensure all reporting requirement deadlines are met.
• Responds to reasonable expectations of Agency and/or supervisor.

Education and Experience:

• The Director of Development should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
• At least -5 years of experience in marketing and grant writing.
