This is an exciting opportunity within Edwards Lifesciences’ to lead the global Audiovisual (AV) team, which lives within the IT organization. This role is a blend of team leadership and hands-on expertise, required to be on-site in a professional corporate setting. This is a role that will frequently interact with corporate leadership and will be responsible for state-of-the-art AV equipment.

Our ideal candidate has expertise with AV equipment, strong communication skills, and must have direct people leadership skills with HR responsibilities over full time employees in a global organization.

Responsibilities

Setting a strategic vision for AV capabilities enterprise-wide, including global AV design and support.

Leveraging industry best practices and partnering with corporate and global teams to gather requirements, design and deliver solution options.

Regularly assessing new technologies and methods to enhance AV capabilities and the team’s ability to execute and meet customer needs.

Ensuring the smooth operations and functioning of AV infrastructure globally. Managing core business applications/technologies to ensure performance according to business needs and IT standards,

Managing a growing global team of experienced AV professionals.

Leading, directing, and managing large global live events

Leading efforts to re-engineer and optimize processes and systems by assessing business needs and developing, proposing, and implementing technology solution options.

Plan and direct multiple complex projects with the accountability for successful completion of all project deliverables to the business within established financial, schedule, scope, and quality objectives.

Lead in identifying risk, developing mitigation strategies, alternative solutions, critical path, resolving issues, etc. in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.

Manage hosted and SaaS vendors while ensuring all activities are delivered in compliance with normal policies, procedures, technology standards, security requirements, etc.

Work in alignment with IT architecture and security teams and their review boards.

Qualifications

Ability to work onsite at global HQ in Irvine, CA.

Bachelor's Degree.

13+ years of prior work experience.

10+ years’ experience in IT or AV.

5+ years’ experience as a people leader of the AV function in a global organization, managing full time employees with HR responsibilities including performance reviews, mentoring, training, and hiring, in addition to leading/directing work.

Strong developer of people, including providing ongoing coaching and feedback and prioritizing the growth and development of new skills.

Leadership of global AV teams, including development of vision/strategy as well as ongoing site support.

Previous experience supporting state of the art auditoriums and large conference facilities globally.

Expert understanding of AV technologies (current and future) and their dependency on other critical infrastructure.

Strong communicator at all levels and in multiple forums (1:1s, large group meetings, etc.). Able to translate technical language and metrics into a compelling and influential story for all audiences.

Able to successfully demonstrate the value and impact of the AV team’s work on Edwards’ business strategy.

Strong organizational savvy and ability to create and nurture trusting relationships across the enterprise.

Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $141,000 to $200,000 (highly experienced).
The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
