DIRECTOR, IMAGING SERVICES
SOUTHEAST GEORGIA HEALTH SYSTEM
BRUNSWICK, GA HARTZ Search invites you to explore an exciting opportunity with our client Southeast Georgia Health System located in Brunswick, GA for the Director, Imaging Services. This role reports to the Vice President and directs and evaluates the operations, programs, personnel, care, and outcomes of Imaging Services for the Health System. Southeast Georgia Health System consists of 3 acute care hospitals including a children’s hospital, 2 Skilled Nursing Facilities, a 200-member employed provider group, and a 70,000-member health plan serving a 6-county region in southeast Georgia. SGHS is also a GME teaching facility with 36 residents (internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology). The Director, of Imaging Services, develops goals and objectives with time frames for expected completion, works collaboratively with other Health System departments to facilitate goal completion and efficient operations, and keeps the administration informed of departmental activities, needs, problems, and regulatory changes impacting the departmental operation.
Highlights and Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Vice President
- 1 Direct Report and 74 Full-Time Employees
- Prepares an annual departmental budget addressing capital equipment, personnel, supplies, and other departmental costs.
- Establishes and monitors processes to assure appropriate charging of procedures and services.
- Develops and recommends appropriate space and equipment needed to facilitate therapy effectiveness. Evaluates, recommends, orders, and ensures maintenance of equipment and supplies used in the department.
- Hires, trains, develops, and evaluates departmental personnel, assigning staff members to tasks in accordance with their personal abilities and the needs of the service area. When necessary, disciplines/discharge team members.
- Keeps abreast of developments in the areas of responsibility. Develops and educates staff via in-services, memorandums, and/or guest lectures.
- Works collaboratively with medical directors to develop, implement and monitor quality standards for assigned service areas to assure that care provided meets or exceeds industry standards for care and organizational goals.
- Effectively markets the services of the departments; accommodates and responds to customer concerns and complaints, and is involved in the negotiation of contracts relating to the expansion of assigned service lines. Participates in various community relations programs, and is able to make a positive and professional impression with community contacts.
- Establishes and monitors policies and processes to assure departmental compliance with regulatory agencies and Health System policies. Serves as an advisor, liaison, and/or educator to other Health System leaders regarding responsible service areas.
- Education: Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiology Program. Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s in Business or Healthcare Management preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field with 5 years’ experience in supervisory or management positions required, including a portion of that time in an acute care setting.
- Skills: Management, leadership, and motivational skills, general clinical, problem-solving, positive interpersonal skills, communication - verbal and written.
