The Director of Process Excellence will demonstrate strong leadership characteristics while collaborating with other business units and functional leaders to develop and implement strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Some duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead the Process Excellence Team. Motivate, train, deploy and organize resources on kaizens, projects, best practice implementations, and target markets. Drive consistency across markets and process improvements across functions to achieve breakthrough results.
- Develop strategies and implement programs that will improve operational effectiveness and work collaboratively with regional, local, and departmental leaders to implement them and measure their effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Business Excellence leaders to implement 5S and other continuous improvement and employee empowerment programs across Sunstate.
- Review existing market operations to find ways to improve or optimize performance across all areas of the business.
- Influence leaders of all levels to inspire change and achieve business excellence, while ensuring alignment with outlined strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with the Executive Governance, Business Excellence, Sales, Operations, and Service leadership to identify the markets we wish to study and optimize.
- Identify cost savings opportunities across all departments; develop and implement plans to capture the savings. Present opportunities to the Executive Governance for prioritization.
- May conduct branch visits to assess all aspects of the business.
- Oversee and monitor implementation of metro or branch developed action plans, engaging all stakeholders to assure execution of plans are accomplished.
- Assist with evaluating potential new markets and coordinate the optimal execution of market entry. Collaborate with Senior and Regional level leadership to assure a well-orchestrated opening is achieved.
- Assist in creation and implementation of new vertical market efficiencies and processes.
- Lead market deep dives by assisting local leadership in identifying solutions to sales and operational issues and facilitate the drafting of executable action plans that will improve the current performance of the market.
- Up to 50% travel
Qualifications/Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in rental business
- Prior experience and skill in equipment rental preferred
- 3+ years of demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement Innovative business strategies
- Detail-oriented while juggling multiple projects with many stakeholders
- Demonstrated resourcefulness; flexible and able to effectively multitask
- Dynamic team player with great collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to build rapport and communicate with field operations leaders as well as executive leaders and speak their language
- Must possess the ability to develop insights, prioritize opportunities and challenges and advise senior leaders accordingly
- Must possess the ability to lead, collaborate as well as individually contribute
- Works within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while delivering clarity with solutions
- Must demonstrate performance, productivity and efficiency standards
- Possesses personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to SSE culture and core values
