  • Full-time positions available immediately (NO PART-TIME POSITIONS, HOWEVER WE DO HIRE RELIEF STAFF FOR FILLING IN FOR VARIOUS SHIFTS) for our ICF/IID (Intermediate Care Facility/Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities) group homes for adults in New Hanover County. We currently have a weekend position available. This is a unique position in which it is only 2 days a week, Saturday and Sunday, 16 hour day each day to equal 32 hours, full time. You can certainly pick up additional shifts through the week if obtaining 40 hours is a neccesity. Please keep in mind that with the precautions in place due to COVID-19 community activities have been on hold/modified and even though the rest of the world is lifting restrictions we are moving very cautiously as we follow long term care guidelines. We have a modified Day Programming schedule at the current time to keep the numbers of consumers present reasonable and spaced out, but active and separate from other group homes. Our first shift is on the move, often involved in getting the clients breakfast, meds and to Access Fit on time or virtually or to the Day Program Building on time, being aware of various notes from the RN regarding appointments that require a variation in schedule or call to AOC to work out a plan or to report an issue that needs resolved, etc. The role of the position in general is to provide supervision, guidance and assistance as needed to ensure a variety of tasks and goal training are completed with 6 individuals diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. Our setting is a 24 hour, eyes on setting (staff are not allowed to sleep on any shifts) and the responsibility of the 2 staff assigned to the shifts is one of constant supervision and providing for the daily physical health, emotional well being of the clients, and keeping the Administrator on Call/QIDP advised of any emergency needs as well as daily needs and the RN advised of any medical needs of the clients. Tasks involved on the shifts include meal preparation along with client assistance as appropriate, bathing activities with monitoring as appropriate for thoroughness, client laundry with staff assistance, attending community outings/driving vans, medication administration (after successful completion of course administered by our RN), understanding of client behavior and intervention plans as developed and instructed by our Psychologist and QIDP, and other duties as assigned. Third shift is of course less active with client related activities as they are asleep, and most of the cleaning duties fall on this shift as well as routine checks on the clients and various documentation. A job description will be presented during the interview for a more thorough review of all duties. Starting pay is $18.00 an hour, experience preferred. Must be 21 years of age, have a High School Diploma or GED, and possess a N.C. Driver's License (provisional license is not acceptable, I.D. not acceptable, as you must be capable of driving our group home vans). The latest requirement is based on the emergency regulation effective 11/5/2021 that states that all Medicaid and Medicare certified facilities will have policies and plans for all staff to be COVID vaccinated to participate in any client care or treatment. Experience working with individuals with behavioral and intellectual challenges a plus. Excellent employee benefits which include health insurance, dental, life insurance, sick and vacation days that Lifetime Resources pays with no contribution currently from employees. Do not underestimate the value of these benefits which Lifetime as an employer pays which adds up to thousands of dollars. Please bring your Driver's License and Social Security Card with you during your interview and be prepared to give consent for a background check as part of your application process (necessary for our field). An on site orientation is provided to extensively review policies, procedures, client rights, behavior plans, and other significant topics related to our specific population. An additional part of orientation is going out to tour the group home and get a feel for the layout, what forms to use and where things are located, etc. The new hire also gets to shadow with an experienced staff member the first time in the home to see how the daily routines are managed which eases one into the variety of duties while being able to ask questions as they emerge. MATURE MINDED, RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS WITH THE ABILITY TO APPLY JUDGEMENT IN GIVEN SITUATIONS IS ESSENTIAL GIVEN THE DAILY TASKS OF MANAGING 6 IID CLIENTS WITHIN THEIR DAILY SCHEDULE.

DO NOT PHONE THE OFFICE TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION. OUR OFFICE MANAGER DOES NOT HANDLE OR HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF WHERE YOU ARE IN THE PROCESS. IF YOU ARE SELECTED FOR AN INTERVIEW BY OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR YOU WILL BE CONTACTED. WE APPRECIATE YOUR COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING.
