MARSCare is looking for a Direct Service Worker. The Direct Service Professional will provide direct assistance and supervision to adults living with physical and intellectual disabilities in the home or community settings. The primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe environment and meet the emotional and personal needs of the participant. We have openings for all shifts including but not limited to evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts.

We provide comprehensive, compassionate, individualized skilled nursing, rehabilitative therapies and non-skilled aide services to people of all ages from birth through the older adult years.

Essential Functions

• Wellness services to enable adequate nutrition, exercise, keeping of medical appointments and all other health regimens related to healthy living activities.
• Chore services needed to maintain the home in a clean, sanitary and safe environment, such as washing floors, windows and walls and tacking down loose rugs and tiles.
• Each case has specific needs and services which will be discussed on-site with the Consumer Account Manager and the consumer or consumer’s family.
• Observation and reporting of the consumer’s condition to the Agency.
• Professional and confidential communication with the Agency and the consumer’s family.
• Other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
• Must be able to lift or transfer at least 30lbs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Skills in providing services for consumers with a positive approach.
• Ability to work as part of a team and positively represent the Agency in the community.
• Must have patience, good communication skills, math, reading and writing skills
• Adherence to a professional code of ethics and confidentiality, recognizing the rights of consumers.
• Knowledge of and ability to comply with the Federal, State and Agency Mandated Regulations.
