Dietary Cook/Aide - Berthoud Job at Berthoud Care and Rehabilitation
Berthoud Care and Rehab is looking for a skilled cook to prepare delicious meals for our patients according to the menu. Experience in large quanity cooking and healthcare is preferred. It is important to keep a clean work environment, label/date food, and maintain practices for food safety.
*Must be available to work evenings and some weekends.*
*Healthcare cooking experience strongly preferred!*
Responsibilities
- Prep menu items
- Cook food per cycle menu and standardized recipes
- Prepare food textures for mechanically altered diets (mech soft, puree)
- Set up food on the steam table for meal service
- Record temperatures of food and cold food storage
- Serve food timely for each meal
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly and labeled/dated
- Check quality of ingredients
Skills
- Proven experience as cook
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage'
