Dietary Aide/Prep Cook Job at Highview in the Woodlands
We are looking for an experienced Dietary Aide/Prep Cook to prepare and/or serve quality food for our residents. All candidates must have Illinois Food Sanitation license and pass background check as required by Illinois Department of Public Health. Previous experience in long term care/hospital setting is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Follow all current federal, state, and county health department standards, guidelines, and regulations as well as all established Highview policies and procedures.
- Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, in quantities according to the menu, recipe and number of persons to be served while using safe food handling requirements.
- Process special requests and/or dietary orders for food changes as received from nurse or Dietary Manager.
- Prepare and serve meals, snacks and deserts that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Prepares plates for residents from steam table.
- Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils according to the proper procedures.
- Properly stores and labels food in designated areas.
- Monitors and records temperatures in refrigerators and freezers.
- Duties assigned by Dietary Manager
