The dialysis care assistant under the supervision of the registered nurse manager providers clinical support for the renal dialysis department .Part-Time - Rotating Saturdays
Stocking: Responsible for ordering supplies for the department. Monitoring their delivery and storing them in appropriate supply room areas. Maintain inventories and check expiration dates. Stock POD supply cart with dialyzers, saline, bloodlines, on and off kit for subclavian and fistula graft. Stocks cabinets with concentrates and BiCart, saline and dialyzers. Restock linen carts at the patient care areas . Put away supplies delivered from the dock area to the store room (mezzanine).
Housekeeping: Straighten up stock room and mini stations, empty all garbage bins in the patient car areas . Pull biohazard wastes, clean containers if soiled. Empty all garbage bins in the break room, copy room and nursing station. Change linen bags routinely in all patient care area. Wash all red bins (biohazard container) with bleach and water solution every Friday. Keep the hallways free of debris and clutter.
Equipment: Clean exterior surface of all unit specific equipment, i.e., dialysis machines, sphygmomanometer, crash cart, supply carts . Keep wheelchairs in appropriate areas. Put away broken equipment in appropriate place.
Other duties: Assists staff members in keeping the RO room clean and tidy. Assists staff members in adding salt to the water softener brine tank. Assists staff members if help is needed.
