Deputy Director - Head Start/Early Head Start Program Job at The Children's Home Society of New Jersey
The Deputy Head Start Director will work collaboratively with the Head Start Director in leading and developing a strong management team and systems to implement a leading Head Start program and Early Head Start program.
Responsibilities
- Supports and develops a comprehensive program structure in support of the Executive Director of Head Start and Early Head Start to ensure the daily operation of multiple child development centers and joint classrooms with school districts over multiple territories.
- Ensures the effective operations and implementation off all Head Start and Early Head Start program options in accordance with all provision of the Head Start performance standards and the State of New Jersey Licensing Standards.
- Develops and supports a strong and supportive team of managers and coordinators to help execute the many requirements and responsibilities of a high-quality Head Start program.
- Ensures that Head Start Performance Standards are well‐known and supported and implemented across the organization.
- Conducts weekly supervisions of all 5 program and content managers.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements and standards, including childcare licensing and other federal, state, and local requirements.
- Supports compliance with all Head Start and Early Head Start funding source mandates, applicable laws and regulations and assures that standards are being fully met.
- Develops reporting relationships with assigned managers based on a collaborative management approach.
- Provides support to the Head Start Director on matters of Human Resources in helping develop managers and key staff and to execute the organization’s policies, practices, and requirements and performance improvement plans when needed.
- Develops and executes a plan to ensure non‐federal share is met by all head Start and Early Head Start grants.
- Ensures managers and staff maximize the use of all program information systems and supports staff development and competencies in best practices related to data, HIPPA/FERPA compliance and other matters of family privacy.
- Reviews and analyzes monthly financial and statistical reports to assess program and budget status and to make course corrections.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
Experience Qualifications:
Preferred three to five (3-5) years’ experience as a Head Start (EHS) Director of a small program, or significant senior management experience with a large Head Start (EHS) program and experience with Child Plus and Data Say.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,121.00 - $102,240.00 per year
