Skills/Abilities

A Dental Hygienist is responsible for promoting optimum dental health by providing comprehensive oral hygiene care. In compliance with Night & Day Dental’s highest standards.

• Assess dental condition and needs of patient using patient screening procedures, including medical history review, dental charting, and perio-charting
• Performs hygiene treatment procedures, such as cleaning, scaling, perio maintenance and polishing
• Takes radiographs required for diagnosis of treatment needs by the dentist
• Applies sealants and fluorides
• Electronic record keeping
• Teaches patients how to prevent tooth decay and gum disease through proper diet and oral home care
• Executes Treatment Plan as prescribed by the dentist
• Ability to articulate and express patients concerns to dentist
• Follow AAP guidelines for periodontal staging and grading

Required Education/Certifications

• Completed dental hygiene certificate program or associate degree in Dental Hygiene and has or can obtain current Hygiene license for state of North Carolina. NEW GRADS WELCOME!
• CPR/BLS Certificate
• Radiology Certificate
