Job Title: - JAVA Applications and Database Developer

Duration: 3 Months with possible extension

100% Remote

Job Description: This position will maintain, revise, and repair existing client software applications as well as develop new application features and client and user requirements change. This member of the technical staff will assist the Project Manager to document the scope, objectives, plan and added value or benefit expectations, using integrated set of architecture and development best practices. Maintain, revise and repair Database systems National Resource Directories (NRD) as well as developing new application features according to client and users' requirements

· Defines site objectives by analyzing user requirements, envisioning system features and functionality.

· Designs and develops user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.

· Designs and enhances NRD(Postgre) database/data models according to business logic.

· Utilizes Postgres PL/SQL, SQL, design database triggers, procedures, functions, complex views and reports.

· Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.

· Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.

· Designs the server jobs to perform Database scheduled tasks, like daily backups.

· Updates Production, Staging and Test Database for new project release, and work with the team for releases’ testing.

· Creates multimedia applications by using authoring tools.

· Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.

· Troubleshoots errors, analyze legacy database scripts and java code.

· Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

· Updates job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

· Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

· Requires at least 2 years’ experience creating user-focused solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Java-based components and interfaces.

· The Java Applications/Database Developer must possess demonstrated abilities with Java 8, Elasticsearch, Spring MVC, Spring Framework, Spring Security, JDBC, Postgres 10, SOAP Web Services, and Apache Maven.

· A highly qualified candidate will possess demonstrated abilities with Vue, jQuery, JavaScript.

· Ability to work remotely and collaborate in a close-knit team on a daily basis.

· Experience working in a scrum environment.

· Demonstrate ability to provide daily status reports.

· Version control experience with Subversion (SVN).

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from an accredited university or combination of education and equivalent experience will be considered."
