Summary of Role/Position

CarParts.com, Inc is seeking a Data Visualization Specialist with extensive experience designing appealing data visualization dashboards on a complex data space. The ideal candidate is skilled in taking any complicated data from different sources and turn it into descriptive story. The candidate will be responsible for identifying data and reporting requirements, developing new and maintaining existing dashboards. The candidate will be tightly involved in the work with Data Science team and executive team.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Work with executive team to identify additional opportunities to apply analytics and visualization capabilities
• Collect requirements, wireframe, prototype, develop and refine a suite of reports and dashboards
• Interpret business problems and offer innovative solutions - not just fill specific requests
• Work with a wide range of data sources and data types, be able to connect, transform and combine data
• Perform data exploration, analysis, and visual storytelling
• Develop analytic dashboards and automated solutions that adapts changing business needs
• Provide with reporting, analysis, and data visualization support as needed for day-to-day activities
• Communicate complex analysis in a clean & simple way to multiple stakeholders

Minimal Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with quantitative emphasis
• 3+ years of demonstrated experience transforming data sets, and analysis into compelling visuals including maps, charts and graphs
• Proficiency with building Tableau Dashboards (PowerBI, Google Data Studio are optional)
• Experience writing SQL queries
• The ability to define, analyze, and document deliverable and technical requirements for projects
• Design and consult on database architecture to enable efficient dashboard solutions
• Strong working knowledge of process automation using a scripting language
• Knowledge of information design principles and data visualization methods
• Attention to details and ability to think out of the box
• Flexibility in handling deadlines and multitasking
• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Eager to learn and explore new tools and technologies
• Ability to work effectively as a team member or individually

Preferred Experience

• Experience building dashboard for executive team
• Experience with Python (Pandas, numpy)
