BACKGROUND:
The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is the leading national voice for dignity and fairness for domestic workers in the United States. Founded in 2007, NDWA works for the respect, recognition, and inclusion in labor protections of domestic and home care workers across the country. movement rooted in the human rights, dignity and equality of domestic workers, home care workers, immigrant women, and Black women.
Position Summary:
The Data Manager’s primary responsibility will be to support and guide organizers on the use of EveryAction and adjacent tools. They will work closely with the Digital Organizing and Membership Team, which is responsible for national communications directly to domestic workers, for designing opportunities for workers to participate in campaigns remotely, and for supporting digital engagement for local initiatives across the country. The Administrator will be responsible for training the organizing team on EveryAction tools, working closely with organizers to collect and deploy useful data on worker engagement, maintaining reliable data sets across EveryAction and other digital organizing tools (such as broadcast and peer to peer texting tools), improving CRM use to allow NDWA to operate at scale as we grow, and providing strategic recommendations on more effectively using digital tools in EA and adjacent platforms. They will also support our organizing team by providing segmented lists of workers, setting up online forms, creating reports, tracking and identifying trends and identifying needed automations.
PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with organizers to collect and deploy useful data on worker engagement and maximize impact of digital tools within EveryAction
Train and support organizers to set data-driven goals and use data to track progress.
Train organizing staff in EveryAction functionality that might support their program goals such as phone bank performance reports, event turnout, volunteer retention, etc.
Create and maintain protocols and data standards for organizers
Manage data entry and bulk uploads
Consistently audit systems to ensure compliance with our established protocols; create mechanisms to boost compliance.
Troubleshoot user issues, resolving them when possible, or escalating when applicable
Support organizing staff in creating, managing and tracking events.
Manage regular reporting on worker engagement and membership program
Maintain clear and scalable practices within EveryAction
Act as an the advanced user of our EveryAction platform
Manage all users and user profiles
Create and track survey questions, activist codes, and tags for organizing team
Liaison between organizing team and tech partners
Stay abreast of developments in EA functionality, prospect potential new uses of EA and assess their applicability to NDWA’s work.
Maintain NDWA documentation and training materials for EveryAction
Work with the Movement Cooperative (TMC) to meet organizing goals
As a member of the Data Team, actively participate in ongoing development of data strategy for NDWA and family of organizations along with other data professionals working across the organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
Expert knowledge of EveryAction/VAN or similar CRM, preferably in an administrative capacity, including list creation, volunteer and event management and cross-platform reconciliation.
Experience in training brand new users to EveryAction (or similar CRM), including users with limited previous experience with CRMs
Initiative to identify opportunities to implement EveryAction functionality to strengthen organizing programs and specific campaigns
Willingness to ask questions and ask for support when stuck
Capacity to proactively propose improvements when identified and ask critical questions to identify areas of improvement
Attention and commitment to data integrity and excellent data management
Commitment to progressive values like economic justice, racial justice, and gender justice
Belief in the leadership and political power of women of color, especially Black and Indigenous women
