Customs Brokerage / Import Manager Job at Confidential
Global freight forwarding leader is seeking a skilled Customs Brokerage/Import Manager for their branch in Torrance, CA! This role is ideal for someone with a background in Import Freight Forwarding with an active Customs Brokerage license.
This is a full time opportunity with benefits and room for continued growth.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00AM to 5:30PM in office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing the import traffic department
- Manage/maintain labor for the import team
- Provide support alongside the quotation team
- Responsible for day-to-day operations relating to the handling and customs clearance of international shipments
- Classification of shipments and preparation of entry documentation
- Knowledge of FDA filing and other PGA’s and familiar with CBP regulations
- Work closely and in conjunction with the Brokerage/ Branch / Compliance Manager to ensure efficiency in all processes within the company and department
- Communicate with US Customs officials and other government agencies as deemed necessary
- Enter shipment and billing data into operational systems
- Assist with payment requests and customer billing as needed
- Demonstrated stress tolerance and flexibility to changing priorities
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Active Customs Brokerage License
- 2-3+ years experience with Import transportation
- 3+ years managing a team
- 3+ years Customs Brokerage import experience with an extensive and broad range of commodities
- International experience, any work-related knowledge of a freight country’s practices.
- Intermediate MS Office Skills
