Crane Maintenance Manager
Columbus, OH
Salary Range: $75K - $85K
Summary:
Crane Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance, renovation, and repair of equipment for Parsec at the Columbus, OH location. Ensures container handling and container equipment needs of operating departments are met. Manages Crane maintenance to maintain availability. Effectively plans and directs to control labor costs while maintaining good labor relations, safety, and morale of personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the quality of all intermodal container handling of equipment, condition, maintenance, repair and renovation to ensure these items are in accordance with established Company standards.
  • Oversee technical and managerial aspects of Crane operations.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with other operating departments to ensure prompt service to meet operational requirements.
  • Lead and direct the allocation of labor and materials to support operational requirements and terminal goals.
  • Manage and direct fair and impartial work assignments and work schedules to ensure compliance with Company policy and to maintain morale of personnel.
  • Directly lead crane mechanics.
  • In coordination with the Manager Safety and Workers Compensation, respond proactively to accident and damage reports to recommend changes or enforce procedures as needed.
  • Responsible for parts procurement, inventory control and storage, and work with Purchasing to secure same.
  • Prepare and administer approved maintenance operating standards and budgets in a manner that will ensure meeting the Company's goals and profitability objectives.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Observe, inspect, and measure proficiencies in maintenance personnel to determine changes in work practices and/or procedures necessary to improve overall maintenance operations
  • Work to meet goals of preventive maintenance for Columbus
  • Assist in the training, development and evaluation of maintenance personnel work performance and recommend or initiate personnel record documentation
  • Assist with interviewing prospective crane mechanic employees, including screening, qualifying, and interviewing
  • Ensure maintenance shop conform to prescribed standards of safety and cleanliness
  • Display knowledge, understanding and application of company safety practices including; DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations and ensure worker compliance
Qualifications
  • Experience in management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Transportation Industry preferred, but not required
  • Experience in a maintenance setting preferred, but not required
And these qualifications:
  • Highly proficient in wiring diagrams and schematic’s
  • Strong background in trouble shooting and diagnosis
  • Experience in a union environment preferred not required
  • Five (5) years of experience working within maritime, crane, industrial, or equivalent industry.
  • Familiar with industrial equipment maintenance and certifications, including local and federal safety and environmental requirements.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Transportation Industry preferred, but not required
