Cosmetics Formulator

We are a small but rapid growing Cosmetics/Skincare Contract Manufacturing company located in St. Petersburg. We are looking for a Cosmetics Formulator for our cosmetics line. This critical role will be responsible for formulating, research & development, testing, stabilizing, troubleshooting, and validating cosmetics formulas. You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, self-driven, independent thinking and creativity, and a good understanding of consumer insights related to product development.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Formulate, research, test, stabilize, troubleshoot, validate specifications

· Develop batches from scratch and improve existing batches

· Research new techniques and chemical compounds

· Create cosmetic formulations at lab and pilot scale from sourcing materials with desired properties through formulation and process optimization

· Optimize formulation processes

· Perform physical and chemical testing

· Develop in-process and final product related specifications for products

· Provide technical support during manufacturing by analyzing product failure to identify root causes and develop solutions

· Work with current team on improving equipment and capabilities of the experimental lab on-site and the quality control procedures performed in it

· Assist in resolving product or process problems

Skills and Qualifications:

· Excel in a fast-paced environment; demonstrated aptitude for navigating ambiguity

· 3+ years of professional experience in cosmetics formulation

· High attention to detail and a sense of urgency

· Possess excellent problem-solving skills

· Managing work in a professional manner and working well with others

· Excellent communication and time management skill

Position details

• Permanent, full-time position; hours are Mon-Thu 7:00am-4:00pm and Fri 7:00am-1:00pm

Salary

• 42k-56k/year

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
