Premier, Resort Style Sandhill Cove Senior Living Community is seeking Cooks who are looking for a rewarding experience. Successful candidates should possess experience working in a fine dining restaurant, country club, hotel or similar venue. Strong interpersonal and hospitality skills required. Working in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions from the Executive Chef, the cook is responsible for the preparation of all food items which may be requested to serve the residents and guests of the community. Cooks are responsible for the sanitary handling, preparation and storage of food, using standardized recipes, using standard methods of preparation, meeting daily meal schedules and serving required portions, caring for and cleaning equipment. Assisting with the receiving and storage of foods and non‑food supplies.

Schedule: 8 hours shift
Shifts vary between 7am to 9:00 pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for the preparation of all food items for all outlets, Health Center and special functions in accordance with standard recipes and methods of preparation and presentation.
Prepares plates and garnishes all food items to be served to residents and guests as directed by the Executive Chef, and / or Sous Chef.
Maintain Sandhill Cove’s Customer Service Standards.
Plans food production to coordinate with meal service hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved.
Maintains assigned work station in safe and sanitary condition.
Inspects kitchen equipment and reports repair needs to maintenance department.
Adheres to Sandhill Cove’s Compliance and Ethics Program.

Education: Must have ability to read, write and communicate in English, perform basic arithmetic and understand measurements and cooking concepts.
Experience: Preferred minimum of one year's experience as a cook or in a job related position in a hotel, restaurant, club, health care facility or similar institution.
