POSITION: Contract Attorney
LOCATION: Corporate Office in Franklin, TN
HOURS: Monday through Friday, 40 hours
Up to $95k/year Depending on Experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- In collaboration with Business Development, prepare program overviews and oversee responses to requests for proposals and invitations to bid
- Draft and negotiate new contracts, amendments, and letters of understanding with clients
- Review and negotiate vendor contracts
- Organize the weekly start up meeting
- Review corporate employee policies
- Review corporate documents
- Travel for jury trials, settlement conferences, and mediations, as necessary
- Oversee outside counsel handling potential and pending litigation
- Coordinate and communicate with outside counsel regarding new litigation
- Respond to field employees and county personnel on legal matters and HIPAA
- Communicate with field nurses to obtain patient records when required
- Coordinate and monitor patient case reviews
- Any and all other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This is not a supervisory position. This position does not have the authority to hire, fire, discipline, discharge, assign overtime, and/or direct and assign work, or the ability to effectively recommend any of these actions, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other employees.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
This position occasionally requires travel.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Juris Doctorate
- Attorney licensed to practice in the State of Illinois
- Strong legal writing skills including excellent attention to detail
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to devise creative solutions for complex issues
- The ability to work under multiple strict deadlines in a high stress environment without sacrificing courteousness
- The ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
- Trustworthy, confident, and responsible when handling or presenting sensitive information
- Strong Microsoft Office, Internet, and email skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training
- Must be able to drive a motor vehicle
- Notary Public Certification
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
