PROJECT MANAGER

Martel Construction, Inc. is currently recruiting candidates to fill a Project Manager vacancy in our Kalispell market which encompasses the greater Flathead Valley. Founded in 1960, Martel Construction provides construction services from offices in Bozeman, Bigfork, and Missoula, MT. As one of Montana’s premier contractors, we’re looking to expand our workforce to meet today’s market needs. This position requires five years of project management experience in the construction industry.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review plans and specifications to ensure they meet project design requirements, building codes, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with the estimating department to prepare budgets throughout preconstruction.
  • Lead and oversee market bidding and bid reviews with project leaders.
  • Prepare subcontracts and procurement agreements.
  • Manage overall and short-range construction schedules.
  • Control costs within approved budgets.
  • Partner the Project Engineer(s) and Superintendent(s) with leading the work including cost, quality, safety, schedule, subcontractor and supplier relationships, and owner satisfaction.
  • Build relationships of trust and respect with hospital staff including executives, managers, facilities engineers, doctors, nurses, and support staff.
  • Oversee closeout.
  • Assist with work procurement.
  • Earn repeat business by exceeding client expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of project management experience in the construction industry.
  • Must be an effective communicator.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to operate typical office technology, such as a computer, copier, printer, calculator.
  • Experience in SWPPP management, record keeping, and document control.

Working Conditions:

  • Work at construction job sites, during all stages, in all types of weather conditions.
  • Performing activities including climbing ladders and scaffolding, lifting & handling materials, walking & balancing, stooping.
  • Must be able to speak & hear detailed information through oral communication.
  • Must be able to see clearly and recognize small details.

  • Compensation is competitive DOE.
