The Infectious Disease Epidemiology (IDEpi) Section, within Office of Public Health, Center of Community and Preventive Health, Bureau of Infectious Diseases, is responsible for reducing the occurrence of infectious diseases of public health importance. The Section conducts surveillance activities to detect cases and identify trends and to institute appropriate intervention and follow- up control measures for more than 60 reportable infectious diseases.
The Congregate Settings Testing Program Coordinator/Monitor is responsible for working under the Office of Public Health’s Bureau of Infection Diseases – Infectious Disease Epidemiology Section and the COVID Testing Team under the direction of the Program Manager 1 B/the COVID-19 Statewide Program Manager, and in coordination with other Bureaus and Centers within the Office of Public Health (OPH) to coordinate COVID19 activities within the region. This position will coordinate COVID-19 related activities including contract monitoring, strategic program creation, design, execution, launch, and closeout. The testing duties will assist with disease prevention and control, and improve health outcomes throughout the regions.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree plus two years of professional level experience in administrative services, economics, public health, public relations, social services, health services, or surveying and/or assessing health or social service programs or facilities for compliance with state and federal regulations.
A Juris Doctorate will substitute for one year of the required experience.
A master's degree in public health; counseling; social work; psychology; rehabilitation services; economics; business, public, or health administration will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Graduate training with less than a Ph.D. will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
A Ph.D. in public health; counseling; social work; psychology; rehabilitation services; economics; business, public, or health administration will substitute for the two years of required experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
70% Coordinates with the Bureau of Infection Diseases and OPH central office to monitor and facilitate COVID19 activities including community testing and contact tracing within the region.

  • Under the guidance of the Epidemiology Department, serves as central point of contact between the external stakeholders and LDH stakeholders. For example, LDH emergency preparedness, OPH central office, OPH Regional Teams, community partners, and other stakeholders regarding COVID19 response activities within the region.
  • Support congregate setting facilities and when needed community settings
  • In charge of the design, creation, and maintenance of the methods in which congregate settings need to track testing, report out testing visually and numerically on a daily basis. This can be done through surveys and dashboards.
  • Assist with ordering of testing supplies, warehousing, distribution of supplies to congregate settings.
  • Strategic creation and design of systems to be used by internal and external partners.
  • Completes grant activity duties, as directed
  • Provide education to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with BRCO and HAI to prepare guidance, reporting, and updates.
  • Regional scheduling
  • Coordinates policies and procedures to ensure efficient program management and accountability of COVID resources.
  • Represents LDH / OPH CV19 testing when needed on federal calls, or related task forces and work groups, as directed.
  • Meets regularly with stakeholders and community leaders to discuss the activities and coordination of COVID-19 related activities.
  • Coordinates and/or assists with the implementation of COVID-19 related activities, such as supply distribution, testing contracting and servicing.
  • Assists with tracking of COVID-19 related activities and completing reporting in a timely manner.
  • Participates in emergency response efforts in the region associated with natural and manmade disaster, or other imminent threats to the health and safety of the residents within the region. This position may be required to work outside of their assigned work schedule and domicile based on events and/or projects.

20% Provides and disseminates health education to at-risk communities regarding COVID19 prevention and transmission.
5% May assist with COVID19 investigations and other events as the response shifts.
5% Other duties as assigned.
Salary/Benefits

  • $72,010 annually plus fringe benefits, per LPHI guidance. The funding availability expires July 2024.
